Overview

Bastianos Bangka Dive Resort opened in 2018 on Busa Bora Beach on the southwestern coast of Bangka Island. The resort combines a white-sand beach and sunset setting with 29 air-conditioned rooms, an infinity pool, restaurant, private jetty and direct access to a long house reef.

Bangka's more than 40 dive sites bring together colourful soft and hard corals, pinnacles, walls, caves, seagrass, sandy bays and selected muck-diving areas. Bastianos Divers has been a PADI member dive centre since 2004 and operates four modern boats, small guide groups of up to four divers, oxygen on every boat and a dedicated camera room.

Full board is included with every accommodation category: breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus mineral water and free-flow self-service coffee and tea at the restaurant.

Dietary requirements should be shared before arrival. Compulsory Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve dinner supplements may apply and are confirmed in the personalised quote.

Beyond diving

Non-divers can enjoy Busa Bora Beach, the infinity pool, mini bar, restaurant, traditional massage service, snorkeling on the house reef and snorkeling trips on scheduled dive boats.

Optional experiences include a visit to Lihunu Village and the Bangka savannah, a local cooking class and coordinated multi-resort itineraries with Bunaken and Lembeh.

Getting there

The resort is reached from Manado Airport or Manado City by approximately 90 minutes by car, followed by around 30 minutes by boat from Likupang. Bastianos arranges car-and-boat and boat-only transfers; standard rates require a minimum of two guests and apply during regular hours from 08:00 to 17:00.

Two- and three-resort itineraries combining Bangka with Bastianos Bunaken and/or Lembeh can be arranged via the mainland or by boat. Flight details, final meeting arrangements, outside-hours surcharges and any non-standard pick-up or drop-off are confirmed before travel.

Dives per day

Up to 3 regular scheduled boat dives per day, with early-morning, Mandarin, night and guided house-reef dives available by arrangement

Dive programme

Bangka offers more than 40 sites and a varied programme spanning coral pinnacles, walls, caves, seagrass, sandy bays and selected muck-diving areas. Two morning dives normally depart at 08:00 with a surface interval on the boat, followed by an afternoon dive at 15:00. Mandarin-fish and night dives can be requested around 17:30–18:00.

Fun dives include the boat, air tank, weights, towel, snacks, coffee, tea, water and fruit, with a guide ratio of up to four guests per dive guide. Maximum planned dive time is 70 minutes including the safety stop, or until 50 bar. Nitrox, rental equipment and special-dive supplements are additional.

Nitrox

Nitrox fills are available for certified Enriched Air divers at EUR 6 per dive. A PADI Enriched Air Diver dry course is available from age 12 and includes two complimentary Nitrox fills.

House reef

A long, highly regarded house reef is directly accessible from the resort and private jetty. It is suitable for snorkeling and drifting dives; guided shore dives are available at EUR 18 per person, subject to current resort pricing.

Photography facilities

A dedicated camera room provides secure storage, a working table for assembly and maintenance, and charging space for underwater camera systems and action cameras. A separate drying room is available for dive equipment.

Dive boats carry fresh water for cameras, and the small 1:4 guide ratio supports photographers and guests looking for local marine-life expertise.

Bastianos Bangka has 29 air-conditioned rooms: 10 Standard Hillside, 6 Superior Hillside Lumbung Style, 8 Superior Hillside Minahasa Style and 5 Superior Beachfront bungalows. The four categories range from quiet garden accommodation to exclusive ocean-facing rooms only steps from the beach.

Accommodation rates include breakfast, lunch and dinner, mineral water and free-flow self-service coffee and tea at the restaurant. Exact double or twin bedding, extra-bed use and room allocation are confirmed with the booking; Superior Beachfront does not accept an extra bed.
