Overview

Magic Island Dive Resort is a small, friendly property in the quiet southern part of the Moalboal peninsula on Cebu. Ten freestanding Superior Deluxe cottages sit in tropical gardens around the pool, restaurant and bar, with views towards Cebu's mountains, the coast and Negros Island.

The on-site PADI dive centre stands at the ocean edge with direct access to the house reef, three traditional outrigger boats, Nitrox, rental equipment and separate rinse facilities. Moalboal's year-round Sardine Run is about five minutes away by boat and Pescador Island about ten minutes away.

About Magic Island Dive Resort

Dining and meal plans

Half board is included in the current special packages. Magic Island serves freshly prepared local and international dishes in a social family-style setting, with an open kitchen, restaurant and sea-view bar.

The exact meal schedule and inclusions are confirmed with the package. Allergies, intolerances and dietary preferences should be shared in advance so the resort can confirm suitable arrangements.

Beyond diving

Non-divers can enjoy the swimming pool, tropical gardens, oceanfront loungers, beach houses, restaurant and bar, spa treatments and snorkeling opportunities, subject to conditions.

Optional land experiences include Kawasan Falls, Kawasan canyoneering and the Osmeña Peak trek.

Getting there

Return private road transfers between Cebu Airport and Magic Island are included in the published special packages. The journey normally takes approximately 3–3.5 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions, and transfers can be arranged around the clock when confirmed in advance.

A €135 supplement applies when the resort confirms a single-traveller transfer arrangement. Flight details and the final pick-up instructions are required before travel. A combined Magic Island and Magic Oceans itinerary can also be requested.

Dive programme

Magic Island dives more than 30 sites around the Moalboal peninsula, most within about 25 minutes by boat. Highlights include the year-round Sardine Run, Pescador Island, coral walls, turtles, frogfish, blue-ringed octopus, pygmy seahorses and the sunset Mandarin-fish mating display on the house reef.

Guided package dives include standard tanks, weights and the usual boat-diving arrangements, with snacks plus coffee or tea during surface intervals. The resort works with groups of no more than four divers per divemaster as much as possible. Nitrox, marine fees, rental equipment and private guiding are handled separately where applicable.

Nitrox

Nitrox is available for certified Enriched Air divers at €12 per tank, subject to fill availability and final confirmation.

House reef

The house reef is directly accessible within steps of the dive centre and is available day and night under resort rules and conditions. It begins with a slope and continues to a coral wall with turtles, macro life and the nightly sunset Mandarin-fish mating display.

Photography facilities

The dive centre provides dedicated rinse tanks for cameras and separate rinse facilities for dive equipment, individual hanging spaces and camera work areas for assembly and care.

Small guide groups of up to four divers support marine-life spotting and underwater photography. Private guiding can be requested but depends on resort occupancy and staff availability.

These locally collected fees apply automatically when the corresponding diving activity takes place. They are shown for transparency and are not optional selections.

Where you will stay

Rooms & rates

All ten freestanding bungalows are Superior Deluxe cottages. They can be arranged with a queen-size bed or twin beds, and five cottages can accept a third bed when requested in advance.

Every cottage includes air conditioning, a ceiling fan, private renovated bathroom with hot shower, minibar, safe, towels, unlimited mineral water and a furnished private balcony. The final pool/garden or sea-facing allocation is confirmed with the booking.
