📋 EXPEDITION OVERVIEW

Bunaken National Marine Park was one of the very first marine protected areas declared in Indonesia, and its conservation success is visible the moment you look under the surface. The park is world-famous for its colossal, vertical coral walls that plunge into abyssal depths, hosting a massive population of hundreds of resident Giant Green Sea Turtles and schools of reef sharks. We base this expedition on the exclusive, car-free eco-island of Siladen, staying in a luxury beachfront resort. This unique program features a Kids Marine Academy—while parents enjoy world-class wall diving, children are guided by marine biologists in fun, educational snorkeling reef tours, dolphin tracking, and turtle conservation work.

🗺️ DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY

🛫 DAY 1: Arrival in the Family Eco-Sanctuary

• For Everyone: Arrive at Manado International Airport (MDC). Our private VIP air-conditioned transport transfers the families to the pier, followed by a smooth 20-minute boat ride to the private island of Siladen. Check-in at our luxury beachfront villas.

• Evening: Welcome sunset cocktails for parents, tropical fruit smoothies for the kids, followed by a relaxed family buffet dinner on the beach.

🐢 DAY 2: House Reef Check-Dive & Kids Marine Academy Launch

• Parents (2 Dives): Morning check-dives at Siladen House Reef. An easy, gorgeous coral slope featuring exceptional visibility and a high density of colorful reef fish.

• Kids & Non-Divers (Academy Day 1): Orientation at the Kids Marine Academy. Children receive their marine biologist explorer kits and head out for a guided shallow snorkeling tour right off the beach to spot Nemo and Dory.

• Afternoon: First traditional Indonesian spa treatment for parents.

🧱 DAY 3: The Massive Coral Walls of Bunaken

• Parents (3 Dives): Diving the legendary Lekuan 1 and Lekuan 2 sites. These are colossal vertical walls covered in giant sponges and hard corals. Expect to see 15 to 20 giant green sea turtles on a single dive.

• Kids & Non-Divers (Academy Day 2): "The Turtle Guardians" workshop. Kids learn about sea turtle life cycles, visit the island's protected nesting sites, and map turtle faces using underwater cameras from the surface.

🐬 DAY 4: The Wild Dolphin Super-Pod Safari

• For Everyone (Joint Family Boat Program): We board our large, comfortable catamaran for an early morning ocean safari. The deep trenches around Bunaken National Park are home to massive resident super-pods of hundreds of wild Spinner and Bottlenose Dolphins. Watch them leap and spin right around the bow of our boat. Lunch is served on a secluded sandspit.

🌋 DAY 5: Terrestrial Adventure – Minahasa Highlands & Volcanoes

• For Everyone (Joint Terrestrial Day): We step away from the ocean for a beautiful family day in the mountain highlands. We visit the geothermal Lake Linow (which changes colors from green to turquoise), explore the local traditional markets, and take an easy family walk along the ridge of an active volcano. Traditional lunch with panoramic mountain views.

⚓ DAY 6: The Caves of Fukui

• Parents (3 Dives): Diving Fukui Point and Mandolin. Fukui features unique underwater stone steps and giant clams over a meter wide, while Mandolin is a beautiful wall with schools of barracudas.

• Kids & Non-Divers (Academy Day 3): "The Giant Clam Hunt." A fun, guided snorkeling treasure hunt over the shallow reef flats to safely identify and measure giant clams under the supervision of our marine biologists.

🎨 DAY 7: Coral Planting & Traditional Crafts

• Parents (3 Dives): Exploring the northern reefs of Bunaken at Alung Banua and Molas Wreck (a historical merchant shipwreck).

• Kids & Non-Divers (Academy Day 4): Hands-on conservation. Kids participate in a supervised Coral Reef Restoration project, attaching baby coral fragments to artificial reef structures. Followed by a traditional coconut-leaf weaving class.

🦐 DAY 8: Night Safari & Bioluminescence

• Parents & Teens (2 Day Dives + 1 Night Dive): Two afternoon wall dives followed by a magical night dive at Siladen Pier to observe sleeping turtles, hunting octopuses, and bizarre macro critters.

• Younger Kids (Academy Day 5): A sunset beach torch safari looking for hermit crabs, followed by an evening educational stargazing session on the sand.

• Parents: Second premium spa body treatment.

🏝️ DAY 9: The Deserted Sands of Nain Island

• For Everyone (Joint Family Marine Safari): A full family boat excursion to Nain Island, famous for its unique shifting sandbar that appears only at low tide. Spend the day swimming in crystal-clear knee-deep turquoise water, building sandcastles, and enjoying a luxury beach picnic.

🛑 DAY 10: Graduation Ceremony & Start of No-Fly Window

• Parents (1 Morning Dive): One final shallow dive at 9:00 AM to safely close the diving logbooks, starting the 24-hour No-Fly countdown. Afternoon spent washing family gear.

• Kids (Academy Graduation): The final ceremony! Kids present their ocean journals to the parents and receive their official "Junior Marine Biologist" certificates.

• For Everyone: A grand beach BBQ farewell gala dinner with a traditional roasted feast, tropical mocktails/cocktails, and a screening of the family movie captured during the week.

🏙️ DAY 11: Return Journey to Manado Mainland

• For Everyone: The No-Fly window concludes. Private speedboat transfer back to Manado mainland. Check-in at a premium luxury resort in Manado. Afternoon free for family pool relaxation or third spa massage for parents.

🏛️ DAY 12: Mandatory Terrestrial Day – Tarsier Jungle Safari

• For Everyone: A relaxed overland day. In the afternoon, we take a short private excursion to a forested nature reserve to spot the nocturnal Tarsiers (the world's smallest primates with giant eyes) emerging from their hollow trees at dusk. Final family celebration dinner.

🛫 DAY 13: Homeward Bound

• For Everyone: Private transfer to Manado International Airport (MDC) for your flights back to Singapore and home to Europe. End of services.
