Lembeh Strait is one of the world's leading muck-diving destinations and is renowned for rare critters, volcanic-sand habitats and macro photography. Bastianos Divers has been a PADI member dive centre since 2004 and operates three modern dive boats, local spotter guides, a maximum ratio of four guests per guide, oxygen on every boat and a dedicated camera room.

Full board is included with every accommodation category: breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus mineral water and free-flow self-service coffee and tea at the restaurant.

Dietary requirements should be shared before arrival. Compulsory Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve dinner supplements may apply and are confirmed in the personalised quote.

Beyond diving

Non-divers can enjoy the swimming pool and pool bar, restaurant and lounge bar, marine-life library, traditional massage service, resort Wi-Fi areas and snorkeling trips coordinated with the dive centre.

Optional land experiences include Tangkoko Nature Reserve, the Minahasa Highlands and sightseeing around Lembeh Island. Cooking classes and coordinated multi-resort itineraries with Bunaken and Bangka can also be requested.

Getting there

From Manado Airport, the standard journey is approximately 45 minutes by road to Bitung Harbour followed by around 15 minutes by boat to the resort. Bastianos arranges car-and-boat and boat-only transfers; standard rates require a minimum of two guests and apply during regular hours from 08:00 to 17:00.

Two- and three-resort itineraries combining Lembeh with Bastianos Bunaken and/or Bangka can be arranged via the mainland or by boat. Flight details, final meeting arrangements, outside-hours surcharges and any non-standard pick-up or drop-off are confirmed before travel.

Dive programme

Lembeh Strait is internationally known for dark volcanic sand and exceptional macro diversity. Many dives are mild, easy and shallow, often around 15 metres with typical maximum depths near 25 metres, while the wider area also offers wrecks, coral slopes and selected wide-angle sites.

Two morning dives normally depart at 08:00 with a surface interval on the boat, followed by an afternoon dive at 14:30. Mandarin-fish and night dives can be requested around 16:45–17:30. Fun dives include the boat, air tank, weights, towel, snacks, coffee, tea, water and fruit, with a guide ratio of up to four guests per guide. Lembeh dives may run longer for critter searching but finish when the diver reaches 50 bar; Nitrox, rental equipment and special-dive supplements are additional.

Nitrox

Nitrox fills are available for certified Enriched Air divers at EUR 6 per dive. A PADI Enriched Air Diver dry course is available from age 12 and includes two complimentary Nitrox fills.

House reef

Guided shore diving is available on the Lembeh house reef without using a boat, subject to conditions and guide availability. The published price is EUR 18 per person and is reconfirmed for the requested dates.

Photography facilities

A dedicated camera room provides secure storage, a working table for assembly and maintenance, and charging space for underwater camera systems and action cameras. A separate drying room is available for dive equipment.

Dive boats carry fresh water for cameras, and local spotter guides with a maximum 1:4 ratio support photographers looking for Lembeh's small and well-camouflaged marine life.

Bastianos Froggies Lembeh has 17 air-conditioned rooms: 4 Standard Hillside, 8 Superior Hillside and 5 Superior Beachfront bungalows. The three categories range from simple tropical hillside accommodation to elevated Minahasa-style rooms and waterfront bungalows overlooking the Lembeh Strait.
