Overview

Murex Manado Resort is set on the seafront amid mature tropical water gardens with views toward Manado Tua volcano and Bunaken Island. The resort combines easy access to Bunaken Marine Park with the contrasting macro, muck, reef and wreck sites of Manado Bay.

Facilities include an ocean-view infinity pool, dedicated camera room, nature spa, indoor and outdoor dining, oceanfront terrace and the Apnea Murex freediving centre. It works especially well for divers, photographers, families and mixed diver/non-diver groups.

About Murex Manado Resort

Dining and meal plans

Accommodation is full board. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included together with afternoon snacks, free-flow drinking water and brewed coffee and tea.

Dining combines Western, Asian and Indonesian flavours, with buffet, à la carte and family-style service depending on the programme. Dietary requirements can be requested in advance.

Beyond diving

Non-divers can enjoy the infinity pool, tropical gardens, spa, oceanfront setting and guided snorkeling.

Land extensions include Tangkoko Nature Reserve, the Minahasa Highlands, volcano and cultural excursions, while mixed groups can also combine Manado with Bangka and Lembeh.

Getting there

Sam Ratulangi International Airport (MDC) is the gateway to Murex Manado. The supplier describes the road transfer as approximately one hour and offers private air-conditioned airport pickups.

The 2026–27 published round-trip airport transfer is USD 31 per person with a minimum of two guests. Combination transfers to Bangka and Lembeh can be arranged and are reconfirmed for the complete itinerary.

Diving from Murex Manado Resort

Dives per day

Tailor-made schedule with single dives, double-dive trips or full-day programmes; each diving day includes one complimentary self-guided house-reef dive under the 2026–27 supplier structure.

Dive programme

Bunaken Marine Park's coral walls are around 35 minutes by boat and are known for turtles, reef fish, tuna, reef sharks, passing eagle rays and wide-angle reef scenery. Manado Bay adds muck, reef and wreck diving with frogfish, seahorses, octopus, cuttlefish, nudibranchs and other macro life.

Murex operates with a normal diver/snorkeler-to-guide ratio of 4:1. Boats carry emergency oxygen and first-aid equipment. Night dives, blackwater / bonfire dives, private guiding, courses and combination trips can be requested.

Nitrox

House reef

The Murex Manado House Reef is accessible directly from the resort and is particularly useful for macro photography and night diving. Under the 2026–27 structure, each diving day includes one complimentary self-guided house-reef dive.

Photography facilities

Murex Manado has a large dedicated camera room for underwater photographers, alongside rinse and dive-preparation facilities.

The combination of Bunaken wide-angle walls and turtles with Manado Bay macro subjects makes the resort especially suitable for photographers who want variety in a single stay.
