Overview

Tompotika Dive Lodge is a small remote dive resort on the east coast of Central Sulawesi, set within a Marine Protected Area and designed for a maximum of 11 guests. More than 30 dive sites lie around the lodge, many reached within about 20 minutes by boat.

The diving combines coral gardens, pinnacles and seamounts with both wide-angle and macro subjects. Healthy reefs, schooling fish, reef sharks and occasional rays can be combined with frogfish, ghost pipefish, mimic and blue-ring octopus and nudibranchs. Wildlife encounters are natural and cannot be guaranteed.

Packages combine air-conditioned bungalow accommodation, full board, airport transfers from Luwuk, guided boat diving and unlimited unguided house-reef diving. The standard guide ratio is one guide to four divers.

About Tompotika Dive Lodge

Dining and meal plans

Full board is included in the dive-and-stay packages, with three meals per day. Meals are served family-style with Indonesian and Western dishes at the beachfront restaurant.

Drinking water, tea and coffee are included. Other beverages, including alcoholic drinks, are additional. Dietary requirements should be shared in advance.

Beyond diving

Non-diving time can include village walks or cycling, beaches, kayaking, use of the lodge bicycles, local cooking experiences and conservation-focused excursions.

Optional activities include a Maleo nesting beach visit, local agricultural visit, Indonesian cooking class, a two-day Mount Tompotika summit trek and a Pulau Dua boat ride.

Getting there

Round-trip Luwuk Airport transfers are included in the 2027 dive-and-stay packages. The road journey is approximately 2.5 hours.

Exact pick-up time is confirmed from the guest’s flight details. If booked separately outside a package, the supplied 2027 round-trip airport transfer price is €150.

Dives per day

2 guided boat dives per confirmed diving day when the Dive Programme is selected; additional guided dives can be requested separately.

Dive programme

For flexible FIT stays, certified divers can select the standard Dive Programme of two guided boat dives per confirmed diving day. The final number of diving days follows the stay length, no-fly requirements, guest preference, conditions and operator availability.

The 2027 à-la-carte rate is €115 public / €92 agent per diving day. Additional guided boat dives, Nitrox, blackwater diving, equipment rental and other diving extras are selected separately where applicable.

Nitrox

Nitrox €5 per tank for appropriately certified divers, subject to operational availability. Standard package air fills are included; a 100 cu ft tank upgrade is €2 per tank.

House reef

Unlimited unguided house-reef dives are included in the 2027 packages for suitably experienced divers, subject to resort procedures, conditions and safe diving practices.

Photography facilities

Tompotika’s mix of wide-angle reefs and macro subjects, together with a maximum guide ratio of 1:4, is well suited to underwater photographers.

The supplied material does not explicitly confirm a dedicated camera room; camera table, rinse, charging and storage requirements should be reconfirmed for the requested stay.

Rooms & rates

The lodge has five bungalows: three Standard and two Deluxe, for a physical maximum of 11 guests.

All bungalows are approximately 35 m² and include air conditioning and fan, an ensuite bathroom with hot-water shower, mosquito net, a large private terrace, Starlink Wi-Fi and 220 V / 24-hour electricity. Standard bedding is split between double/queen-style and twin units. One Deluxe bungalow can accommodate a third guest.
