Reef dives, snorkeling, quiet bays and time ashore create a varied small-boat journey through Komodo. Choose the package that matches your activities; both share the same cabin accommodation and full board.

From EUR 1,516 per person sharing for the snorkeling package; diving package EUR 1,756. Both exclude EUR 120 in compulsory fees.

This is a separately scheduled departure of a different duration. The exact day-by-day programme is confirmed for the selected sailing; the six-day sample is not a fixed itinerary for this trip.

Embarkation in Labuan Bajo

Airport or hotel pickup, an onboard briefing and equipment preparation start the sailing. Arrive at Labuan Bajo airport by 10:00, or stay locally the night before.

Cruising and activity days

The operator lists this as a 4-night Komodo sailing. Daily dive sites, snorkeling stops and land activities are arranged for that departure. A dedicated day-by-day itinerary was not included with the supplied materials; ask for the confirmed programme with the quotation.

Return to Labuan Bajo

Return on the published final date and transfer to a local hotel or the airport. Flights should leave at 13:00 or later, subject to confirmation of the final diving and transfer schedule.

Explore the diving

The operator offers guided diving in the Komodo region. Sites and the total number of dives depend on the departure programme, conditions and guest experience. The 5-night sample includes reefs, pinnacles, channels and macro sites; it is not a guarantee of the programme for this different-duration sailing.

Currents and experience

Komodo includes current-swept channels and exposed sites as well as more sheltered areas. The guide selects sites for conditions and the group. Open Water certification or equivalent is accepted and no minimum logged-dive count is required by the operator; this does not make every site suitable for every guest.

Water and equipment

The supplied guide describes water temperatures around 25-29 C, with occasional cooler thermoclines. Discuss wetsuit choice and any comfort or experience concerns before travel. Diving is on air; Nitrox is unavailable.

Underwater photography

The itinerary offers wide-angle subjects such as reefscapes and possible manta encounters, together with smaller subjects around sandy sites. Camera rinse and storage facilities are listed on board. Avoid contact with the reef and follow the guide’s positioning advice in current.

THE VESSEL

Moana

A 30-metre wooden phinisi for just 10 guests, exploring Komodo with five ensuite cabins and separate diving and snorkeling packages.

Moana is a traditional Indonesian wooden phinisi based in Labuan Bajo. Five cabins accommodate a maximum of 10 guests: three doubles and two twins, all below deck with ensuite bathrooms and individually controlled air conditioning.

Life on board centres on a shaded open deck, outdoor dining and daybeds, with an indoor wooden lounge for relaxing between activities. Meals, snacks, drinking water, tea, coffee and selected soft drinks are included.

The operator welcomes both certified divers and snorkeling guests. Three dive guides serve a maximum of 10 guests, and the programme combines time in the water with beaches and land excursions.

Shared spaces

Shaded deck seating, outdoor dining, sunloungers and bow daybeds; indoor lounge and a small library. There is space to relax outside between dives and to enjoy the evening sky.

Dining & dietary needs

Full-board Asian and international meals, breakfasts, afternoon snacks and selected non-alcoholic drinks are included. Vegetarian choices are available; tell us about allergies and dietary needs before confirming.

Dive deck

Dedicated equipment preparation space, a stern platform and tender support. Guided diving and snorkeling activities are arranged according to guest experience and the conditions.

Camera facilities

Camera rinse tanks and camera/video storage are listed by the operator. Ask in advance about space and charging needs for larger equipment.

Rental equipment

A full rental set costs EUR 225 per trip, excluding a dive light. Individual BCD, regulator, wetsuit or dive computer: EUR 60 per item per trip. Dive light: EUR 25. Reserve sizes and equipment before travel.

Safety equipment

The operator lists emergency oxygen, first aid equipment, life jackets, life rafts, radio and navigation equipment. Follow the crew and guide briefings for each activity.
