The expedition

Expedition Overview

Atlantis Infiniti’s Visayas North itinerary is a seven-night liveaboard journey through some of the most varied diving regions in the central Philippines. Departing from Atlantis Dumaguete Resort, the route connects Bohol’s reef systems, the protected waters of Southern Leyte, the thresher shark grounds around Malapascua and the coral walls of Capitancillo.

The itinerary combines wide-angle reef scenery, pelagic encounters and productive macro diving without relying on staged or provisioned wildlife experiences. Easy overnight passages move the vessel between diving regions while leaving the daytime programme focused on diving.

Exact dive sites and daily sequencing remain subject to weather, sea conditions and the captain’s operational decisions.

Day by day

Indicative Itinerary

The itinerary is expeditionary rather than fixed. The captain and cruise director may change the sequence according to conditions, safety and marine-park regulations.

Day 1 — Embarkation at Atlantis Dumaguete

Board Atlantis Infiniti at approximately 4:00 PM at Atlantis Dumaguete Resort. Cabin check-in, vessel and safety briefing, equipment preparation, welcome dinner and overnight passage toward the first diving area.

Day 2 — Pamilacan Island

Diving around steep reef slopes with extensive hard and soft coral growth. Possible encounters include barracuda, manta rays, dolphins and other blue-water marine life. Wildlife sightings are natural and cannot be guaranteed.

Day 3 — Anda, Bohol

A varied diving day combining colourful walls, sandy slopes and macro-oriented sites. Typical subjects may include pygmy seahorses, nudibranchs and other small reef life alongside schooling fish and healthy coral scenery.

Day 4 — Sogod Bay, Southern Leyte

Explore the protected reefs and walls of Sogod Bay, including the wider Napantao area. Expect strong coral coverage, turtles, frogfish, hunting trevally and possible whitetip reef sharks.

Day 5 — Kimud Shoal and Gato Island

Early diving at Kimud Shoal for the possibility of thresher sharks, devil rays, manta rays, tuna and other pelagic life. Continue to Gato Island for tunnels, rock formations, reef sharks and macro-rich reef diving.

Day 6 — Malapascua Island

Dive a mixture of soft-coral gardens, reef structures and macro sites. Possible subjects include pygmy seahorses, frogfish, nudibranchs, squid, baitfish and resting whitetip or bamboo sharks.

Day 7 — Capitancillo Islet

Final full diving day around coral walls covered with sea fans, gorgonians, soft corals and hard corals. Schools of jacks, tuna, large groupers and other reef fish may be encountered.

Day 8 — Disembarkation at Atlantis Dumaguete

Breakfast on board followed by disembarkation at approximately 7:00 AM at Atlantis Dumaguete Resort. Guests may continue with a land-based Dauin and Apo Island extension.

The itinerary is indicative. Dive sites, number of dives and daily sequencing may change according to weather, currents, sea conditions and operational considerations.
